We are glad that you have decided to explore the benefits and joy that an AAPI membership offers to you, while you work hard to take care of your patients. We like to think of AAPI as one large extended family and are delighted to have you join our large family.

AAPI has three different divisions:

Parent Body

For established physicians across all specialities.

YPS

Young Physicians Section (within 10 years of clinical training).

MSRF

Medical Students. Residents and Fellows

01 Parent Body

Membership is offered to all physicians who are of Indian origin irrespective of the location of their Medical College/School. Most members would have completed their Residency/ Fellowship trainings and they would be at least 5 years into practice/ research by the time they join. They would have also obtained licensure to practice in at least one of the 50 States in the United States.

There are two types of Memberships available:

Annual Membership: From July 1st and ends on June 30th the following year irrespecive of when you join. The Dues are $100. You require two consecutive years of membership to be able to vote.
Patron (Life Membership): You can sign up anytime by making an one-time payment. The current Patron membership dues are $100. All dues are subject to change by the Governing Body at any time.

02 YPS (Young Physicians Section)

This section is for physicians who are within their first 10 years after completing clinical training. The annual dues are only $50. Please note that annual YPS members are not eligible to vote in AAPI elections. However, if you prefer voting privileges, you may choose to sign up for a Patron AAPI Membership, even if you fall under the YPS category..

03 MSRF (Medical Students, Residents and Fellows)

This group represents the future of AAPI and is also the largest membership category. It includes all medical students, residents, and fellows currently in training. Membership is free during the training period. To enroll, a letter from your Medical School Dean or Program Director is required as verification. Residents and fellows may also choose to join as Patron Members by paying the same dues as a regular AAPI member, which includes additional benefits and voting privileges.

Each member of AAPI is mandated to update their email address, including the home mailing address and telephone numbers for voter list and voting. This data information will be kept strictly confidential, and members’ privacy will be preserved. If you do not update your information, your ballot could be emailed to your old email address. AAPI takes no responsibility for this.
