Dear AAPI Family,
I hope this message finds you well and inspired by the mission we share.
As the American Association of Physicians of Indian Origin (AAPI) continues to serve as the sole national voice representing physicians of Indian origin in the United States, we find ourselves at a critical juncture—one that calls for both reflection and renewed commitment.
For years, AAPI has operated its day-to-day office activities with limited resources, relying primarily on modest annual allocations from the small percentage of the AAPI Patron Fund. Our one-time lifetime membership fee of $100 is not sustainable to support the scale and scope of our operations.
Despite our network of affluent and influential physicians, our political advocacy, and our philanthropic initiatives, we are facing a financial landscape that demands urgent attention. Sponsorships—particularly from pharmaceutical companies—have significantly declined.
This letter is not just a financial appeal. It is a reaffirmation of our shared purpose. AAPI is more than an organization—it is a movement that upholds the dignity, unity, and professional interests of our community. To continue this legacy, we must come together.
We are reaching out to you for donations and to help us build a robust, values-based fundraising strategy.
Whether it’s $50 or $5,000, your donation is a statement: that you believe in the power of community, accountability, and progress.
We remain committed to transparency, fairness, and ethical stewardship. Your support will ensure that AAPI remains a beacon of advocacy, service, and cultural pride.
Warm regards,
Amit Chakrabarty, MD, MS, FRCS
President, AAPI
